It was a busy Thursday for high school athletes across Delaware.

Champions were crowned in tennis and lacrosse, and baseball semifinals determined which teams move forward to the finals.

Here's a rundown of the events:

Baseball: Appoquinimink blanks St. Mark's to reach final

Evan Bouldin pitched his second straight state tournament shutout to lead defending champion Appoquinimink to a 3-0 victory over St. Mark’s in the semifinals of the DIAA Baseball Tournament on Thursday.

Baseball: DMA beats Caravel, earns first trip to title game

Delaware Military Academy let a 1-0 lead slip away in the top of the seventh inning, but rallied for two runs in the bottom of the frame to take a 3-2 win over Caravel Academy in the other semifinal of the DIAA Baseball Tournament on Thursday.

Drew Simpson's single in the bottom of the seventh plated the winning run and sent the Seahawks into their first state championship game, where they will face Appoquinimink on Saturday.

Tennis: Dover girls, Tower Hill boys repeat as state champions

The Dover girls and Tower Hill boys tennis teams had to wait an extra year to defend their team championships from the 2019 DIAA Tennis Tournament after COVID-19 wiped out the entire 2020 season.

The wait didn't seem to bother either team as both capped off strong regular seasons by once again winning the state team titles Thursday.
