A 37-year-old Wyoming man was shot and killed Sunday in the town's first homicide in nearly nine years.

Delaware State Police and officers from the Wyoming and Camden police departments responded to the 100 block of S. Caesar Rodney Ave. at about 3 a.m. for a shooting incident.

There, they found Keyshawn Narcisse lying directly in front of a residence, suffering from apparent gunshot wounds, according to Delaware State Police Senior Cpl. Jason Hatchell.

Narcisse was transported to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Wyoming, a Kent County town of about 1,500 people, has a three-officer Police Department, according to Chief Martin Willey. Their last homicide case was the 2013 murder-suicide of Jay and Janice Wyatt.

Police provided no suspect information for Sunday's incident. The state police homicide unit is investigating.
