Early bird special: Single-day passes for Firefly go on sale June 15
If you missed the chance to buy weekend passes to Firefly Music Festival, which are now sold out, you still might have a chance to attend by getting single-day passes.
Those tickets are on sale at 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 15, at Fireflyfestival.com.
The festival offers three types of passes: general admission ($299), VIP ($699) and Super VIP ($2,499); all three are sold out. For camping, the only tent option available is on the north side for $229.
Featuring headliners Billie Eilish, The Killers, Tame Impala and Lizzo, Firefly will be held in the fall for the first time, from Sept. 23-26.
Firefly is planning to reduce capacity to about 50,000 fans this fall, state officials said, a reduced capacity that would make it the smallest since the festival's 2012 debut.
But details about other possible COVID-19 related precautions and restrictions have largely been undecided. Delaware Online/The News Journal reported in May that state health officials would begin the detailed planning process with festival organizers that same month.

Division of Public Health's Jamie Mack said he and other health experts will be examining several factors including the state's vaccination rate, new cases and hospitalizations when determining what pandemic restrictions or precautions will be in place.
The seven-day average of new Delaware cases has decreased 25% from 177 to 45 in the past month.
"Over the last couple of weeks, we've seen a lot of these factors moving in a positive direction, and we're optimistic they will continue that way through the summer, especially as we see more people get vaccinated," said Mack, the state's environmental health director.
On Wednesday the Delaware State Fair announced fully vaccinated people won't have to wear a mask to the 102nd fair, which begins July 22.
Once a Firefly plan is approved, AEG will begin telling festivalgoers what to expect and how to keep themselves safe in The Woodlands, located near Dover International Speedway. (There have been no talks about using "vaccine passports" and requiring fans to be vaccinated.)
Firefly officials said they are working closely with the health department to ensure a safe event.
"Firefly and the Delaware Division of Public Health are in constant communication and the decision to limit festival capacity to 50,000 attendees per day was made when deciding to return to the Woodlands in 2021," they said in a statement last month.
While the festival's capacity will be reduced by about 50% this year, making it the smallest since Firefly's 35,000-person debut in 2012, Mack said any other changes are still unknown at this point.

The pandemic forced Firefly to go dark in 2020. Last year's festival was set to feature a historic lineup for Firefly with a trio of female headliners – Eilish, Halsey and Maggie Rogers – after offering only one female headliner out of 29 in previous years.
This year’s headliners include mighty women like the fan-favorite Eilish. Over the last few years, critics have knocked the festival for not having enough representation of women topping the bill.
Other major performers coming to the festival this fall include Megan Thee Stallion, Cage the Elephant, Roddy Ricch, Wiz Khalifa, Diplo, Glass Animals, Machine Gun Kelly and Portugal. The Man.
Meanwhile, Mack said, we're still playing the guessing game about what possible COVID-19 restrictions might look like at the festival.
"It could be that by the time we get to the event, there may be incentives, special sections and other different ways for those who can document vaccination status to enjoy the event," he said, "whereas those that remain unvaccinated may be encouraged to wear masks or take further precautions."
